An antique watch movement made by the Elgin National Watch Company, in 1894, has a thin coat of resin on it.  Over the resin, ten AB Swarovski crystals have been attached, directly over the screws in the plates.  This also has a metal wing on the side.  This hangs with a silver-plated bail and a stainless steel chain.
